Course Structure

Most classes include pre-class materials, such as pre-recorded, tutorial-style videos, lecture notes, reading assignments, and practice problems, followed by interactive live sessions via Zoom or Google Meet. The live sessions focus on deeper discussions of concepts and methods, student questions, and additional problem-solving.

Students are expected to:

  • Thoroughly review the pre-class materials, complete the assigned homework, and submit any questions before the live session.

  • Review the content after each lecture to reinforce learning and deepen their understanding.

Learn more about the benefits of using pre-class recordings and post-lecture review.

While parents often request fully live classes, students seem to prefer the combined approach of pre-recorded videos and live sessions.

Elementary Math 3, 4, 5 (Student Teachers)

Our student teachers offer small-group classes (4–6 students) and weekly private tutoring sessions for elementary math. All classes are conducted live via Zoom or Google Meet. The curricula we use include Beast Academy and Singapore Math, along with tools like IXL for practice and reinforcement. The hourly rate is $15 for small-group classes, $30–$40 for private tutoring, and $20-$30 for semi-private tutoring. Tuition is collected monthly.

Year-Round Introductory Math (Dr. Xue & Student Teachers, Adjunct Professors)

“Pre-Algebra is my favorite course in middle school math. It’s not just Pre-Algebra, but also Pre-Geometry, Pre-Number Theory, and Pre-Counting. Students start to learn the key concepts of each topic, and it’s like unlocking a door to an entire world of exciting discoveries.” – Dr. Xue
